A senior official of the Ministry of Atolls Development, Acting Atoll Chief of Raa atoll Office Mohamed Abdulla, was wounded in an attack on Saturday night.
The Maldives Police Service said that the incident had occurred around 9:30pm when some Kandholhudhoo residents living in Ungoofaaru had gone to the Atoll House to meet with the Acting Atoll Chief. The group of people had been notified by a senior official at the Atoll Office that the Acting Atoll Chief was not at the Atoll House, but the group had seen Mohamed Abdulla leaving the Atoll House through the back door and had attacked him. Jumhoory Party’s (JP) Presidential Candidate Qasim Ibrahim may have four wives but that does not qualify to be a successful leader capable of leading the country, according to Ali Waheed, Media Manager of Maumoon 2008 campaign.
Ali Waheed said JP’s candidate is experienced in business management, in handling financial aspects of businesses but does not have the necessary leadership and capabilities to lead a country, to be at the top job of the country.
